Canberra Builders Successful at National Business Leadership Awards
Builders in the Canberra Region have shone at the National Business Leadership Awards held last Thursday 22 August in Melbourne. The awards celebrate the best small, medium and large building and construction businesses in the residential, commercial and civil construction sectors.
Master Builders ACT CEO, Michael Hopkins said the awards are a great opportunity to showcase the outstanding work of the Canberra Building Industry, “The Awards recognise business success through best practice, innovation, ethical corporate conduct and contribution to community. Master Builders already recognises excellence in building and construction, but the new National Business Leadership Awards recognise the importance of being a great business as well as a great builder,” Mr. Hopkins said.
Mr. Hopkins said, “New Level Landscapes, Complex Co and Guideline ACT won the 2019 Small Residential Building Business of the Year, the 2019 Small Civil Construction Business of the Year and the 2019 Medium Civil Construction Business of the Year, respectively.”
“It’s a tribute to these businesses and the culture that Master Builders ACT encourages among its members that the three Canberra builders were successful,” Mr. Hopkins said.
Ash Carter, Director of New Level Landscapes and winner of the 2019 Small Residential Building Business of the Year award said, “It is fantastic to be recognised on a National platform as a small business owner in the construction industry. Three years ago, I began New Level Landscapes and had always hoped to one day be sharing the stage with the best in the industry, accepting this award has been an incredible achievement for me.”
Nick Zardo, Managing Director of Guideline ACT and 2019 Medium Civil Construction Business of the Year said, “It’s excellent to see that the National Business Leadership Awards provide recognition to businesses within the construction industry, not just their outstanding projects. A lot of factors go into creating a successful business within this industry and it is great to have that recognised.”
Matt Haskins, Manager of Complex Co and winner of Small Civil Construction Business of the year said, “It’s an honour to be standing up here accepting this award. The MBA have put on another great event demonstrating professionalism within our construction industry, and we look forward to this event excelling in the future. Without a dedicated, passionate and committed team we would not be here, so thank you to the people behind the scenes that make this company what it is.”
