Representatives of the Japanese Government in Australia have approached the National Association of Forest Industries (NAFI) asking for assistance from Australian companies with the capacity to supply temporary dwellings for residents displaced by the recent earthquake and tsunami.

When the residents of Rocklea’s Pine Lodge Home for the Aged were evacuated on 12 January, they thought they’d be away for a few days at the most. Instead, the home was extensively damaged by the disastrous floods that swept through Brisbane, and the building and facilities were rendered completely uninhabitable.
