From 1 October 2009 anyone working in construction activity in the ACT including both commercial and residential sites will be required to hold a Construction Induction Card.
Office of Regulatory Services advises that on 1 October 2009 the ACT Government intends to mandate the National Code of Practice for induction for construction work. As a result there will be a National Construction Induction Card which will be known as the "White Card" coming into force from 1 October 2009. Click here to view the letter from the Office of Regulatory Services regarding interim measures for the new White Card.
Master Builders Group Training is holding regular Construction Induction Card training sessions at Master Builders Skills Centre in Fyshwick. There is also a limited number of dates for on-site training sessions, provided that there is a suitable training room and facilities. All training sessions are limited to 20 per session. Contact Master Builders Group Training for more information.
Without a Construction Induction Card your ability to work will be affected. Office of Regulatory Services will be issuing fines if you are working on a construction site without an Construction Induction Card or Statement of Attainment during the interim measures.
