Human Resources Manual
The Building Construction industry is extremely complex. Not only do employers need to contend with the complicate process of building and its numerous laws and regulations, but they are responsible for the day to day management of their employees.
People management is a job in itself, and no employer can be fully prepared for every workplace relations issue that may arise. That's why Master Builders has created this Human Resources Manual.
The manual has been designed to arm members with the resources and required knowledge to deal with everyday situations that may arise in the workplace. Click here for your order form.
Land Release
The Master Builders is constantly working with and lobbying the ACT Government, ACT Ministers, Land Development Agency (LDA), ACT Planning and Land Authority (ACTPLA) and Private Developers to increase the amount of land available to builders and the public.
We are lobbying the Government to provide us with a clear, robust land release program for the next two years but more importantly the next five years. We are also requesting a stabilisation and moderation of land prices with no increases over the period.
Further information on current land projects in the ACT can be found on the LDA website.
Affordable Housing
In addition to working on the availability and price of land as mentioned above, the Master Builders has been working on possible affordable housing initiatives for a number of years.
Industry needs to work with the Government to look at the cost of stamp duty and other infrastructure costs and the impact of them on affordability. This is most important for first home buyers to give them a better chance of getting into the housing market.
The Master Builders is continuing to work with the Government and industry in respect to design and building solutions that may reduce the cost of housing.
