Lobbying government and other key decision makers on behalf of the local industry is a primary focus of the Master Builders Association of the ACT.

Land supply, procurement practices, work safety, workers compensation arrangements and training top the list in regular discussions we have with politicians and government agencies. Achieving further planning reform through the Industry Monitoring Group established as a result of the Global Financial Crisis remains a major objective of the Association.

Internationally, nationally and locally, energy, sustainability and environmental concerns are having significant impacts on our industry. The requirements for industry to change and conform will increase as governments commit to demonstrating action. Our role is to provide the collective voice of industry to ensure that policies adopted are reasonable and responsible. This includes matters around training and compliance to make sure a real partnership is established in protecting the environment.
