Statutory Warranty Insurance (Fidelity Fund)

The Master Builders Fidelity Fund has been established to protect the interests of both consumers and builders in the Australian Capital Territory.

Established under the ACT Building Amendment Act 2002, the Master Builders Fidelity Fund operates under a trust deed and is managed by an independent Board of Trustees.

The Master Builders Fidelity Fund issues Warranty Insurance Certificates to builders, which provide consumer protection for owners of new homes and those making significant changes to their homes. The warranty provided covers the owner during construction, should the builder disappear, die or become insolvent. The owner is also provided with a six year statutory warranty which covers defective work, should the builder no longer be around to rectify the faulty works.
